Did I finally cave and buy a Bentgo box? Yes, yes I did!

I’ve contemplated for a long time getting a Bentgo Box for my kiddos. Before, I talked myself out of it because I felt overwhelmed by the amount of compartments and I wasn’t sure what I could put in all of those that my picky eater would actualy eat. It can be difficult coming up with a couple of things they will eat, must less 5. Plus, apart from buffalo sauce that my older one likes directly on his chicken, neither of them really like sauces too much, so that compartment seemed useless. With all of that considered, I never really thought it was worth it to pay the price to try one out.

Let’s fast forward to this year. My youngest son started back to the daycare he goes to a couple of times a week. He isn’t actually as picky as my older son, and because he is getting older and growing more, I felt like I should send a little more food and maybe more of a varity that I had the previous year. I also realized it might be a little overhelming for his teacher to have to open more than one thing if I send it seperatly, so having it all in one box would be ideal. Then my friend told me that she uses the small compartment to fit fruit snacks, and I was sold! lol I didn’t realize that tiny sauce compartment would fit an entire bag of fruitsnacks.

I finally caved and bought a Bentgo box to try out. We’ve only used it once so far, but I can already tell that it’s going to work perfectly for us.

My other son started kindergarten this year, and while he is homeschooled, he will go to a co-op program once a week. Technically because I’m with him, we can just go pickup something for lunch that day, but it’s not ideal for every week because that can get expensive over time. Also, we might not always have enough time to grab something to eat, eat it, and then make it to pick up my youngest from his daycare in a good time frame, so since I can already tell that we like the Bentgo box, I decided to order my oldest one too. With this weekend being Labor Day, they had a sale/coupon for $7 off, so it worked out nicely.

I think them both having one will also be nice for days when it’s not so hot and we go out for a picnic.

I’ve also slightly become obsessed with watching “pack lunch for my kids with me” videos on TikTok for lunch ideas, and I thought it might be another way for me to have fun with their lunch to make my own videos. I probably won’t make a video every time I make their lunch, but I plan on doing it pretty regurarly.
