Nick and I made plans to go to Sea World on our trip to Texas. We thought it might be best to go on Tuesday, but then decided to go on Monday because they were having a firework show for Independence Day.
We got there a half an hour before it opened to get in line to enter because we wanted to make sure we had time for all of the shows. However, around 5pm, we had seen all of the shows except the night one, and there were still 2 hours until that and 3 until the fireworks began. Nick wasn’t feeling so well, and right at the end neither was I. We were also both really hot and tired, but we had had a real nice and enjoyable day. We decided to head back to the hotel and opt out of the fireworks.
We picked up supper on the way back to the hotel, and then watched a movie in bed after we ate. After that it was getting close to time when people have their firework shows. I was feeling much better, but Nick still wasn’t feeling very well. However, he was sitting in the chair looking up places to see fireworks on his phone. He told me of two we could try and catch, but I could tell he really wasn’t feeling well. I asked if he wanted to see them or if he was only looking for me. He said for me because he knows I like them. I told him I didn’t have to see them and I was a little tired. He tried to tell me that he was ok and we could go. I then told him yes I loved them, but if he didn’t feel well then I was happy to stay in and that I had seen plenty of fireworks before.
A few moments later I heard fireworks outside our window. I looked as there were some just right across the street. We were as close as we would be at one of the shows. Then I looked around, and there were more and more all over. I stood there watching one of the most beautiful firework shows I’ve ever seen made up by multiple shows. I stood there probably 45 min to an hour and counted 12 different firework shows that I could clearly see in that time. They were constant and beautiful. I still even heard some go off after I stopped watching. The glass had face smudges where I had been resting my face.
This picture isn’t that great because of the light and I was taking the photo through the window on my phone, but it’s the best one I have of any of the fireworks that night. I know you can hardly see them, and it doesn’t do the beauty of them any justice. However, it holds an amazing memory, and helps me remember my priceless mental picture of that night.
I realized two things tonight 1. How awesome of a husband God has blessed me with. 2. How amazing Gods perfect timing is. I mean I knew both of these before, but there are those special moments when everything is put into perspective that makes those realizations even more special!
